Modern PHP is not a contradiction – it’s the foundation of clean web development. PHP 8.x brings union types, enums, match expressions, named arguments, and fibers. The language has evolved significantly: from “quick-and-dirty scripts” to type-safe, maintainable software.
I use Composer for dependency management, PSR standards for interoperability, strict typing, and a clean separation of concerns. The result is code that works today and remains readable and extensible for years to come.
Slim PHP is my most-used PHP mini-framework and my go-to choice for lean REST APIs, microservices, and lightweight web applications. No bloat, clear structure, fast implementation.
Slim follows the middleware principle and PSR standards. This makes it ideal for projects where a full framework like Symfony would be overkill. Typical use cases are API backends, internal tools, and integrations with third-party systems.
WordPress powers over 40% of all websites. As a platform for content management, blogs, and business websites, it is unmatched. My own website and several custom plugins run on WordPress.
